Your subject has a raw power that echo's old cave paintings. Picasso was an admirer of this too - that conjuring; the magical. Do you have any American Indian ties in your family. Maybe I relate to this because of my Creek blood. On my "Admiralty Head" painting, the Grandfather I speak of writing love letters in 1917, was a Creek from Oklahoma. He had joined the army thinking he'd get a horse, and they put him in artillery instead. Such is fate ! Art has those chance elements as well.
