that should be " varnish on it without reactivating the crayon"
Todd Peterson
Thank you all. Marlene I use Caran De Ache Neocolor II water soluble crayon. I began using it on watercolor paper, but then I discovered a Russian artist that was using it on wooden panels. I could never find out how to contact him, so I experimented on my own. I found if I stabilized the crayon I could use a high quality art varnish on it with reactivating the crayon. It will stay active forever if not stabilized, I have went back to pieces I've had laying around for years that weren't finished and was able to blend colors

I like the colors, design and overall quality of this piece, Todd.Hmm- I have never heard of varnished crayon. How does that work,if you have time to tell?? Sounds interesting. From where I see- it looks like pastel on my computer screen. Marlene
