Sorry about the title, as far as the body of this blog, so if You're here for Asparagus fun facts, or what You didn't know about asparagus, or any of that kinda stuff, I apologize. If You've already read My maiden voyage into the "blog", You understand "Vincent and the Asparagus", well understand might be pushing it ( not sure I completely understand it) but, You know where it's coming from. For those of You that haven't read it... CATCH UP... we'll wait.-------------------------------------------- ok now that's out of the way. Hey Lina, where's that coffee!...oh ya., where was I, oh Ya a current discussion about art school_Good or -Bad. I never went. I can remember only one friend growing up that had any interest in art. We moved a lot when I was a kid, so I had a lot of friends that entered and left My life, but that one guy, I always remembered Him. He's gonna be ticked at Me for doing this (are You reading this Mike) I actually only knew Him for about 6 months. We stayed in contact for a couple of years, then life happened. I always remembered Him though. By the way, check out His stuff, the guy is like crazy talented (oh He's ticked now) also just a bit crazy. Mike Flinn. Hey Burt how's it hanging. Oh ya... the school thing I'm getting there (He tends to ramble don't Ya know) This last weekend I was involved in a huge community art extravaganza. ART-A-WHIRL. All of North East Minneapolis, and N.E. has got art. Well this really cool guy, an architect by the name of Jono, great guy, Lets Me have about 20 feet of wall, first floor lobby,lets Me put nails in the wall ! for 30 bucks for the weekend. He has bands, shows movies on the side of building at night,any way it was pretty neat, let Me tell You. Well back to My point (He tends to stray a bit) So I'm hanging out with all these great artists all weekend, a couple of Kevins, Rabi, Anthony, Jason, and Jamie (the hardest working gal in the art biz) Jamie is director of Altered Esthetics gallery a non profit, google that one up and check it out, great place (HI Jamie) ok all the plugs are out of the way. Any way I always remembered that one guy, and this weekend I know how they have pumped Me up, gotten the old juices flowing (I've done three pieces during and since the weekend, spiders, million miles, and now Vinnie, and I don't know if anyone else will like them, but they sure feel right to Me )
Well ok we're headin' home now...That feeling, that spurt, I gotta think that 2-3-5 years of art school , had to be pretty cool, not to mention, the chicks! are You kidding Me...art chicks, had to be even better than nurses. Oh look there's birdies in the yard....I gotta go

Just sitting here looking out the window, thinking about a recent, well attended discussion, and felt like trying on My first blog.(so off He rambled) The subject of professional artist versus Vanity artist came up < insert Carson's dead horse here> . Professional artists were "real" artists was brought up I believe. Professional artists from what I could gather meant, that You produced art for a "market". I maybe missed it,( it was quite a lengthy discussion...don't ya know.) but I don't recall a definition for "vanity artist"... I know the generally accepted def. something like, You want to show the world Your expressions, Your interpretations, Your feelings so strongly that You'd actually pay some one to help You show Your work..or something like that. That (I guess) is a bad thing, and means You're really not an artist. So if donuts is "hot in the market" and You paint and sell donuts, Your a Professional artist, but if You paint asparagus, (and lets face it ... no one wants asparagus) and feel passionately about asparagus, and actually paint a few asparagi, knowing full well it aint donuts. That along with being just plain "bat shit crazy", You're also not an artist. the word HOGWASH comes to mind. So in summing up, or is that summoning? (gotcha) some dude painting donuts that are selling like hotcakes is an artist, but some wacko that couldn't sell anything, but painted asparagus that could make You weep, asparagus that reached off the canvas and enveloped You in it's asparagusness, asparagus You would name a child after (ok ok I"ll rein it in) but NOBODY buys asparagus..it's just not an asparagus market..damn it. This poor slob He's a vanity artist ...I guess, or not an artist at all. Well I like asparagus, and all those donut people can just go F_ _ _ themselves. and I guess that's how I feel about that. ...Oh look something sparkley...I gotta go
